Kurzbeschreibung: This two day course is designed to introduce those new to clinical research to the principles and basic concepts of good clinical practice. For professionals who are experienced clinical researchers but have not had any good clinical practice training this course is an excellent introduction to the subject.

Lectures are supplement by workshops to allow participants the opportunity to apply new knowledge in practical exercises and case studies.

Course topics will include:

* Historical background to ICH-GCP and clinical research rules, regulations and guidelines

* Roles and responsibilities of sponsors, investigators and ethics committees

* The study protocol

* Essential documents

The following pre-requistites should be met by applicants:

* be new to clinical research and/or the priciples of good clinical practice

* fluency in the English language
