Kurzbeschreibung: HUGO's Tenth International Human Genome Meeting, HGM2005 will be held at the Kyoto International Conference Hall, Kyoto, Japan, from the 18th to the 21st April 2005. HGM2005 is specifically organised under the subtitle, "From Genome to Health" that is designed to update and increase your knowledge in the quickly evolving field of human genome research. A stimulating and interesting programme of plenary lectures, symposia, workshops, poster presentations and social events make HGM2005 an ideal forum to share information and results with researchers in both science and industry. This is an increasingly exciting time for scientists working on the Human Genome, and HGM2005 will continue promoting international collaboration. Scientific topics will include population genomics, medical genomics, functional genomics, epigenetics and the genome, cancer genomics, functional transcriptome, emerging technologies, genomic basis of infectious diseases, stem cells and medicine, systems biology, model organisms, comparative genomics, genome research and society, and future perspectives on genomic research.

HGM2005 will be held in Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan for about 1,000 years beginning in 794 A.D. There are plenty of interesting places worth visiting, such as shrines, temples (Kinkakuji temple is pictured on the right of this page), gardens, museums, historical buildings and other forms of Japanese heritage. In any season you can discover many different faces of Kyoto during a leisurely walk or a public transport tour of the city. In April, however, Kyoto becomes most attractive for visitors with a variety of flowers and a comfortable climate. Fortunately, Kyoto is served by an excellent transport network so visitors from home and abroad can easily visit anywhere they wish.

Join us at HGM2005 to see and enjoy more of Kyoto in its best season.
