In spite of modern technology, the deeper values of mankind seem stable. Love, hatred, fear, anxiety, jealousy, happiness and other basic feelings of the human being are described through centuries as well as the last decade. e.g., in literature. Main ethical values learned via philosophy and/or religion are more stable - and their evolution is somewhat slower. This fact may create conflicts and, in particular, in the modern bio-medical and bio-technological period, these conflicts seem more obvious.
This congress, the third of its kind in Denmark, is being held to discuss and elucidate some of these issues, such as cloning, gene therapy, stemcell research, torture and ethics, etc.
