Kurzbeschreibung: In this year’s Ethics Symposium we focus on common ethical dilemmas that permeate contemporary health care. During general sessions through keynote and plenary addresses, we will explore ethical issues related to palliative care, medical enhancements, physician-assisted suicide, inter-disciplinary communication, and patient-physician conflict.

Five concurrent workshop offerings include sessions on organ donation after cardiac death, claims of conscience underlying refusals of care, common ethical dilemmas in pediatric medicine, clinical and ethical distinctions in terminology during end-of-life care, and modern ethical dilemmas in obstetrics and gynecology practice.
