Kurzbeschreibung: Following the Jerome Lejeune International Conference (November 8th and 9th 2004), this event will bring us together to update information on genetic diseases resulting in mental retardation, emphasizing application of basic science advances to clinical care. Our goal is a meeting that encourages a rich interaction between researchers and all heath professionals (physicians, psychologists, rehabilitation therapists…) involved in patients care.

You will note that the program was designed to detail possibilities and perspectives for treating mental deficiency, a topic of great interest.

Contributors will also address practical clinical issues of disability and preventing the complications that can result (ENT, orthopaedics,…).

At the end of the meeting, prizes will be given for the two best poster presentations, highlighting new steps for treating Genetic Mental Disabilities.

It is our intention that the conference will give you both the up-to-date scientific information and the most useful suggestions and contacts for your professional activity. Accordingly, I am delighted to welcome you in Paris for these two days.
