Kurzbeschreibung: In response to consumers’ concerns and their desire to know more about the origins and production practices of food, traceability is increasingly used to provide assurance to shoppers that food products have been produced to specified standards. Traceability is the ability to trace the history, application or location of an entity by means of recorded identifications.
Traceability also provides an opportunity for producers and retailers to communicate with the market on ‘ethical’ attributes of products, including how they were produced and traded. The conference includes 3 sessions:

1. Consumers: informed ethical choice and food for democracies

2. Food authorities: ethical responsibility in the food chain

3. Producers/retailers: ethical traceability in the food production chain

The conference addresses politicians, consumer- retailer- and producer organisations, food companies, packaging companies, food authorities, food researchers.
