Kurzbeschreibung: We would like to invite you to the 23rd Ernst Klenk Symposium in Molecular Medicine on "Non-Coding RNA" which will be held from September 30 to October 2, 2007 at the Main Lecture Hall of the Medical Faculty of the University of Cologne.

We are very pleased to announce that Prof. Thomas Tuschl (Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Laboratory of RNA Molecular Biology, The Rockefeller University) was substantially involved in the scientific coordination of the program. Prof. Tuschl will also present the Ernst Klenk Lecture entitled: "Mechanisms of Small RNA Guided Gene Silencing in Mammals".

The list of speakers includes leading researchers in the field who will discuss the breakthroughs and challenges of Non-Coding RNA technology. The topics include the mechanism of small RNA guided gene silencing in fungi, plants and protozoa, microRNAs, siRNA in the context of diseases as well as the biochemical mechanisms of RNA silencing

The Symposium - organized by the Center for Molecular Medicine of the University of Cologne (CMMC) and the Ernst Klenk Foundation (Marburg) - is intended to provide a forum for discussion of state-of-the-art research in these fields for interested scientists and students from academia and industry.

The symposium will start on Sunday, 30 September 2007 at 2 p.m. and will end on Tuesday, 02 October 2007 at 1 p.m. Please note that participation is free of charge.

We expect lively and fruitful discussions and look forward to welcoming you at the Ernst Klenk Symposium at the end of September.
