Kurzbeschreibung: Preservation of human dignity and safety of human subjects in clinical research is not only a matter of a good legislation. The same importance has the implementation of ethical and legal norms in everyday practices. Ethics committees have an important role in planning and realisation of clinical research. They are institutions, which guarantee that all ethical and legal norms will be complied. Effort of members of ethics committees is grounded in medical ethics (bioethics). In the development of medical ethics wide discussion of problems and arguments is unavoidable.

Therefore the main purpose of the conference is meeting of members of ethics committees with experts in medical ethics, representatives of sponsors and researchers. The conference will give a unique opportunity to discuss many urgent theoretical and practical problems in the work of research institutions and regulatory bodies. The conference is organised as international, several foreign lecturers were invited and the attendance is open to participants from the whole Europe. Official language will be Czech and English, simultaneous translation will be ensured.

Topics of the conference

* Good clinical practice and ethics committees in the Czech Republic and in European Union.

* Cooperation of regulatory bodies and ethics committees. Various problems in the work of ethics committees (SOP, insurance, contracts).

* Mistakes and fraud in clinical studies.

* Independence of the ethics committee, personality of members of ethics committees and their education, accreditation of ethics committees.

* Institutional ethics of CRO a sponsors.

* Ethical aspects of genetic testing, ethical problems of the use of stem cells in clinical therapy, clinical evaluation in paediatrics.
