Kurzbeschreibung: Scripps invites you to a special, half-day program on the Monday immediately prior to this year’s American Society of Human Genetics annual meeting in beautiful San Diego, California. As you will see in the program, renowned speakers will present short, staccato-type talks to examine the salient progress and challenges in the field of genomic medicine. Presentations will be concise and limited to 20 minutes in order for attendees to engage in interactive panel and Q & A discussions.

This high-quality program will kick start your week if you’re attending the ASHG convention, while providing a stimulating overview of the cutting-edge field that is genomic medicine. And if you are not attending the ASHG, this will be a great update on a rapidly burgeoning and exciting field.

Who Should Attend

The Future of Genomics Medicine conference is designed for Human Geneticists, Genomic Scientists and health care professionals of all disciplines interested in the future of medicine, especially with respect to individualized therapies.

Educational Objectives

Please note, educational credits are not offered for this program.
After attending this course, participants should be able to:

* Demonstrate the unmet needs of medicine today with respect to more targeted, individualized prevention and treatments.

* Discuss the opportunities of the genome, proteome, metabolome discovery to change medical practice as it exists today.

* Assess how changes and advances in technology are rapidly ushering in a whole array of new pathways for individualized medicine of the future.

* Explore specific strategies in cancer, cardiovascular and pharmacogenomic futuristic interventions.
