A warm welcome to all of you to BioStar 2008 – the 3rd International Congress on Regenerative Biology and Medicine and the 3rd Congress of the German Society for Stem Cell Research. As this year’s congress draws nearer, we would like to inform BioStar participants about four points of interest.
First and foremost is Abstract Submission. The Scientific Committee invites all participants to join in submitting their own abstract on our website. The accepted entries will be published in the journal Tissue Engineering. The deadline for Abstract Submission is May 31. In addition to abstracts, participants have another chance to showcase their work through our Poster Award. The Scientific Committee will select the three best presented posters and each will receive an award of € 400.
On the first day of the congress, BioStar is proud to host the Gesundheitsforum Baden-Württemberg in our Satellite Symposium. The Forum will be presenting a special event in German to which all participants are welcome.
In regards to a recent decision by the Landesärztekammer Baden-Württemberg, the BioStar Scientific Committee is pleased to announce that BioStar 2008 is a certified Continuing Medical Education (CME) Event.
Research, Therapy, Industry
BioStar opens up new perspectives in the field of regenerative biology and medicine. Spanning the three branches of application – research, therapy, and industry BioStar highlights topics that appeal to:
Scientists –Through its six sessions, BioStar explores cutting-edge research and groundbreaking scientific methods in regenerative biology’s most prominent fields. The congress substantiates and diversifies its intellectual focus through the sponsorship of a poster contest, bringing in scholars from around the world to present their latest discoveries.
Doctors – Non-invasive transplant characterization and imaging techniques compound BioStar’s focus on therapy methods. With speakers from around the world, BioStar offers a diverse and thorough course of information. As a certified CME Event, doctors can take part in learning about tomorrow’s most critical medical issues and acquire official accreditation.
Businesspeople – In the business world, connections make the difference. If you are looking for connections in the bio-medical industry – BioStar is the place to be. The BioStar congress brings great minds together, encouraging an innovative exchange of ideas on the market and opening the door for new product applications. The 2006 Congress led to a number of successful business cooperation arrangements and we expect even more this year in Stuttgart.
Students – For young academics, the BioStar Congress provides a glimpse into the different areas within regenerative medicine. Whether trying to get some professional exposure, seeking a job or just eager to learn, BioStar offers a good student price for a great academic experience.
BioStar 2008 will highlight topics on:
• stem cell sources
• stem cell differentiation and reprogramming
• tissue engineering for cell therapies
• clinical applications of tissue engineering products
• non-invasive transplant characterization and imaging techniques
• biomaterials and scaffolds
• product development for regenerative medicine
• molecular imaging
