This workshop will bring together lawyers, managers and scientists to review recent developments in:
* Detailed Implementation of the EU advanced therapies directive
* Good Manufacturing Practice in Stem Cells
* Beyond WARF – novel developments in stem cell patenting
* Changes to the UK Human Fertilisation and Embryology Law
* New UK Human Tissue Authority Codes of Practice
* Induced Pluripotency– are embryonic stem cells commercially irrelevant?
* Other interesting developments and case law in 2008
The workshop will be focussed on practical issues, with opportunities for professional development, constructive discussions and networking.
Participants will include representatives from academia, industry, and regulatory agencies (MHRA, UKIPO, HTA…).
Professionals, clinicians, academics and postgraduate students working on these or similar issues are equally welcome and should find the workshop equally useful to catch up on developments in the law, regulation, ethics and science of advanced therapies and to be prepared for upcoming issues during 2009 and beyond.
