Congress on Ethical, Legal and Psychosocial Aspects of organ Transplantation. This
Congress will take place from 17 – 20 April 2010 in the World Trade Center in Rotterdam,
The Netherlands.
ELPAT is an interactive European Platform that exchanges information, ideas and
experiences by encouraging dialogue and facilitating the European research agenda on
Ethical, Legal and Psychosocial Aspects of organ Transplantation.
ELPAT is an official commitee of the European Society for Organ Transplantation (ESOT)
that was founded during the 1st Congress in April 2007 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
The objective of the 2nd ELPAT Congress in April 2010 is to expand the European Platform
by encouraging continuity and progress in the dialogue on the complex issues of
transplantation ethics.
This Congress will give special focus to cross-border issues and the involvement of
new EU member states, candidate countries and other European countries in the field
of organ donation and transplantation. The Organizing Committee therefore welcomes
new topics to be highlighted and discussed through free presentations, workshops
and debates with the goal of formulating recommendations for the plenary closing
session. The Organizing Committee welcomes ethicists, philosophers, clinicians, lawyers,
psychologists and policy-makers in the area of organ donation and transplantation. We
also offer a social platform and opportunities for networking through the organization
of social and cultural activities. We think that you will enjoy not only our ELPAT Congress,
but also the vibrant atmosphere, culinary delights and modern architecture of Rotterdam.
