Kurzbeschreibung: In Macapa, state of Amapa, in the region of the Guianas and along the
Amazon River, where the Blond Mahogany(Parahacornia amapa) wells its
latex or white milk, which is used for medicinal purposes by traditional
people of this city and state.

Objective

To discuss advances made on biodiversity research in the Guiana Shield and,
to share experiences in the use and management of biodiversity.

The congress will accept (oral) presentations and (visual) posters from
recent studies in the following thematic areas:

* Flora

* Fauna

* Ecosystems

* Services of Biodiversity

* Impacts and Restoration

* Biological and Conservation Management
* Proposals for Community Based Conservation and Management

The options regarding oral presentations or poster displays will be evaluated and accepted based on availability of physical space and time available for such presentations and/or displays.
