Kurzbeschreibung: Building and maintaining a health system which is both efficient and fair, is an increasingly complex and pressing task in many countries. Not only is health care a basic social service addressing existential needs; it also has a profound meaning as a symbol for charity and humanity. Tremendous international efforts have been made to promote medical progress and to make new therapies available to as many patients as possible. At the same time, increasingly rising expenses have led to concerns about the financial burdens and opportunity costs of health care.
The conference brings together leading experts from a range of disciplines and countries to discuss ethical, economical, socio-political, juridical, theological and related aspects of health care provision and allocation.
