Kurzbeschreibung: Most people with dementia suffer from Alzheimer’s Disease. The number of patients with Alzheimer’s Disease is projected to rise worldwide from 37 million now to 70 million by 2030. Medical, nursing, psychological, social and familial problems are directly connected to the characteristics of dementia and the number of patients. Dementia has far reaching implications for patients, formal and informal caregivers, and society as a whole. In this lecture series we will pay attention to a number of ethical issues in dementia care which are related to the medical, nursing, psychological, social, and familial dimensions of dementia care.
The lecture series ‘Ethical issues in Dementia care’ is part of the post-initial Erasmus Mundus Master of Bioethics program.
