Kurzbeschreibung: Objective:

The aim of the course is to discuss in depth the ethical requirements of medical research involving children, with specific attention to the still debated issues of informed consent and the standard of minimal risk.

Contents:

Contents of the course include: epistemological and ethical justification of pediatric research; international legal frameworks on pediatric research; communication skills and strategies in research involving children; biobanks and pediatric research.

Participants:

The course should be of interest for health professionals working with children; children’s health investigators; members of Research Ethics Committees (or IRBs); members of Research Institutions; government policy makers and legislators.

Registration:

The course fee is € 600 if you register before February 29, 2012; € 700 for registration from March 1 to April 27, 2012. The fee includes tuition and course materials, as well as refreshments, three lunches and a dinner.
