Kurzbeschreibung: Two main topics will be discussed during these meetings:
•Traditional medicine and its ethical implications; and
•The principle of non-discrimination and non-stigmatization, as set forth in Article 11 of the Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights (2005) – this principle will provide a “conceptual umbrella” under which the new risks and responsibilities arising from progress in different sensitive areas of medicine, life sciences and associated technology (including but not limited to biobanks; access to drugs; organs, tissues and cells transplantation and trafficking; neuroscience; HIV/AIDS; and nanotechnologies) will be analyzed in a transversal manner.
The sessions are open to the public. The working languages will be English and French and simultaneous interpretation will be provided in these two languages. Simultaneous interpretation will also be provided in Arabic, Russian and Spanish during the joint session of IBC and IGBC.
