Special topics such as "Ethics Committes", "Teaching Biothics", "Ethics of Care", "Careers in Bioethics", "NBAC", and "Feminist Bioethics" will be offered in small forum sessions.
Specific aims for the course are to introduce participants to the philosphical underpinnings of bioethics and current major topics in the field, and to provide them with skills to define and describe various principles and approaches to bioethics. These principles can then be applied to an enhanced understanding of medical practice, law and public policy. Participants will understand and be able to demonstrate bioethical principles within a solid framework of decisionmaking in clinical, research and policy settings.
