Kurzbeschreibung: OBJECTIVE: This seminar will be addressed to health professionals and investigators in social sciences that work on research involving human subjects, with special emphasis on the International Ethical Guidelines CIOMS 2002 and their applicability to developing countries. It will focus on Latin American countries with a comparative international perspective from both developed and other developing countries. It is expected that this encounter will engender new recommendations about the applicability of the Ethical Guidelines and their possible modification. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: 1. To gain knowledge about the International Ethical Guidelines for research involving human subjects in a comparative perspective. 2. To familiarize with legal and conceptual aspects of the Guidelines 3. To enhance the participation on ethical and scientific review committees or counseling to organisms that work on research involving human beings TOPICS: Panel1: Foundations: International ethical guidelines for biomedical research involving human subjects CIOMS 2002.
