Titel: Post-Conference Workshop: Transgenic-based Production for Biopharmaceuticals: When is it needed?
Beginn:

In addition the following parameters of transgenic production systems will be discussed:
* Agronomic
* Economic
* Containment
* Downstream processability
* By-product credit
* Geographical location
* Capital
* Costs
* Regulatory
* Intellectual property
* Ethical and public acceptance
The workshop will provide an overview of the diversity of transgenic production systems described in literature (milk, urine, eggs, seeds, foliage) and hosts (cows, goats, chicken, tobacco, corn, alfalfa, barley, rice, brassica) considering how different transgenic systems and hosts have to be matched with product needs.
Current state of the industry will also be discussed including status of current products in pre-clinical and clinical development.
Participants to this workshop will obtain practical knowledge on alternatives available for biopharmaceutical production based on transgenic systems and the expected performance of the system. As product examples and background on the companies involved in the development of transgenic systems will be discussed, participants should be able to compare their products with those already produced using transgenic technology and who to contact.
